Puppy survived the vet's dental procedure today and now is sleeping like a lil bum curled up in her bed. It's silly how much we care for tiny creatures. I kept seeing her empty bed all today and it pained me to know that she wasn't here with us. It's been a long day for both of us, and I am so glad I've got my living stuffed animal back.

History Channel should be renamed to Imminent Apocalypse. An hour ago it was Decoded's episode on 2012, now showing "After the Armageddon." Next up, "The Day After Disaster" with this episode focusing on a nuclear explosion in D.C.

Later maybe we can get another two hour block of Nostradamus, another hour long special of the Next Nostradamus, and maybe some webbot for good measure. Tie in the Mayans and the Hopi Indians (Isn't it interesting we believe in their calendars but not their gods?) Cue the tsunami footage and earthquake rubble. Let's through in uncertainty (i.e the spread of democracy) in the Middle East. There you go, the format for half a dozen shows currently being cycled through the History Channel's programming.

If we are super lucky, maybe late tonight the author of Chariots of God's venture with the History Channel will be on later to tell us about how we are the Ancient Aliens who have lived through the cycle of destruction and rebirth and that soon another purge is imminent.

Have you spent 1 million on a safe haven yet? Maybe bought some extra ammunition and a few more guns? How's the pantry looking? Generator, first aid supplies, water purification tablets?

One thing is for certain, millions upon millions upon millions of dollars are being spent on uncertainty. It's like the guy who noticed all the generators being bought out for Y2K, who isn't a believer but will sell you anything you could possibly need for you post apocalyptic world.

I just want to say thanks to the History Channel for pushing the end times on a day to day basis. Pretty certain you left your mission of documenting and providing historical (i.e. events in the past tense) information. You're just as bad as all the other capitalists out there profiting off of people fears.

Day three with very little sleep. There is German shepherd maybe about a year old that lives right behind us...and by lives I mean is in a fenced in cell practically 24/7. He howls at night, and you can hear his sadness of being neglected. But in the past, the noise was muted. Now the windows are open, and it is full force. He literally howls and barks all freakin night, and the owners just let him scream. Why the fuck would you have a dog if you're just going to cage him up? They could have at least fenced the yard so he could run around, but nooooo.

When I break into their gated community and find their address, I'm going to have to call animal control over and over until it stops. It's a beautiful dog, hopefully if they're warned and fined they'll either a) let the poor dog inside or b) give him to a better home with people that would actually care and spend time for it. It's not an old dog, and German shepherds are typically dogs in high demand.

I just feel bad for the dog... and I'd like some sleep too.

I really despise animal cruelty. Until the matter is resolved.. try shooting the neighbour.

Sneak in with a steak laced with Ambient...

Sounds cruel, but at least the dog would get a restful night, too.

Only if you are going to feed that steak to the owners....

Hope you help the doggy soon.

Why I don't miss Idaho... Today it is snowing, there is a power outage, and reports of a mountain lion near the university once again.

Solitude is something I desperately miss at times. I am constantly surrounded by people and it never seems that I have the luxury of a moment to myself. Always chores to do on the list, always company to keep and entertain. I am by nature a social person, but without balance I lose sanity. The real reason I love the gym is because I don't have to be anyone there, one foot in front of the other. Stride after stride till I am spaced out into a consciousness that eliminates all other stimuli. But even to reach that mental relief it takes a good half an hour before I hit the zone out period that I am so desperately yearning for.

I really need to find more quiet and self reflective time for myself.

I miss writing, and with one task leading to another, I never really allow myself to move beyond the damn passive voice. I need to find the words and the perspective to bring me back to a harmonious state or at a minimum allow me to pretend to be the director of intent.

I need to detach myself... I feel a purge coming on.

Midnight on a Sunday night, and people go to the streets to cheer... thousands turn to Facebook, Twitter, and other social media outlets... the psychological need for collective joy is so overtly present.

I'm listening to Al Jazeera currently trying to get a worldly view, but even they are showing the crowds in front of DC and saying how a killer has died.

This is justice for America, and revenge for everyone in countless countries who have died by his operations. I am proud to be an American today, and thankful for our armed services and cooperation of allies to facilitate a victory in our continued fight against terrorism.

There really is a relief in knowing he's out of the picture now even though the danger level will probably rise for our troops and others overseas for a while.
